By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran has carried out a passive defense maneuver for its power industry to prepare for emergency situations.
Gholam Reza Jalali, Head of Iran's Passive Defense Organization, said the capacity for providing sensitive organizations and centers with emergency electricity will boost the nation's management of power in case of crises, IRIB reported on November 1.
Assessments after the maneuver showed that dispersed electricity generation projects will increase success of management during times electricity is cut off.
Further, those sections which enjoy higher IT power will be able to cope with crises more easily, he noted.
Control and dispatching centers that operate smarter will have higher efficiencies and success rates during critical situations, he added.
