Morocco is restoring its diplomatic relations with Iran, broken off six years ago, Mehr quoted Morocco's Foreign Minister Salaheddine Mezouar as saying Nov. 6.
He also said that in the near future, Morocco will send an ambassador to Iran.
Ties between Iran and Morocco were broken off in 2008, after Morocco's foreign ministry issued a statement accusing Iranian embassy of trying to organize a coup in the country.
After that, the embassy of Iran in Morocco was closed, following the statement.
In 2014, Iran sent its ambassador to Morocco, as a sign to normalize the relations.
