Intelligence organizations in Iran need to strengthen their efforts to ensure the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif has said.

He made the remarks in a session of the Intelligence Coordination Council of Iran with Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi and other officials from various related organizations, IRNA news agency reported December 29.

Pointing out that the country's intelligence system has two missions of monitoring and directing, Zarif said during the implementation of the JCPOA, the council has special tasks to ensure authentic implementation by the sides and offer well-adjusted policies.

The Intelligence Coordination Council is the highest ranking intelligence council in Iran and is made up of officials from the Ministry of Intelligence, defense organizations, Foreign Ministry, etc., supervised by the intelligence minister.
