Positions of Moscow and Tehran are close on many issues of the Middle East, Iranian deputy foreign minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said, RIA Novosti reported.
He said that the past negotiations with the Russian president's special representative for the Middle East and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov were "very useful."
"We deeply concentrated our attention on some of the crises in the Middle East," he said at a press conference in Moscow.
"The main issue we discussed yesterday was how to implement the agreements reached in Vienna and New York for a political settlement of the Syrian issue," he added.
The sides also discussed the situation in Yemen, Lebanon and Palestine, according to him.
"Tehran and Moscow have close positions on many issues of the Middle East. As for the Syrian issue, we have a common position," said the Iranian diplomat.
