IS terror group failed to form government due to Iran - Rouhani
Baku, Azerbaijan, Apr. 23
By Fatih Karimov - Trend:
Iranian president Hassan Rouhani says that the Islamic Republic saved the world of a terrorist government nightmare.
While the terrorists were fighting to capture Baghdad and Damascus, Tehran responded to the neighboring countries' request for help, he added.
If not for Iran, the "Islamic State" (IS, aka ISIL or ISIS) terrorist group would have formed a terrorist government, Rouhani said, Fars news agency reported April 23.
The Iranian president further said that Tehran's efforts have prevented the expansion of the IS activities.
He added that the Islamic Republic today is the pioneer of fighting terrorism and extremism in the world both in word and practice.
