By Fatih Karimov - Trend:

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that the enemies of the Islamic Republic try to influence the decision-making centers of the country.

Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with members of the Assembly of Experts as well as the newly elected chairman of the body Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati on May 26, the official website of the supreme leader reported.

In line with its infiltration strategy, enemy tries to influence decision-making centers, alter Iranian officials' positions and change people's beliefs, Khamenei said.

He further referred to infiltration as "very dangerous" stage of enemy's hostile policies against the Islamic Republic and the continuation of the soft war.

Promotional attacks on the foundations of the revolutionary institutions, including the IRGC, Guardian Council as well as revolutionary youth and clerics is among enemy's ongoing approaches, in order to deplete the Islamic Republic of its internal power elements, Khamenei said.

He further touched upon the nuclear deal signed between Tehran and the six world powers last year, saying Iran's capabilities in the area of nuclear technology forced enemies to accept the Islamic Republic as a nuclear power.

"There was time when enemies would not accept even a single centrifuge inside Iran, but they finally surrendered in the face of Iran's nuclear might," Khamenei said, adding that actually it was not the US who gave Iran the concession, but the Islamic Republic got it with its own power.

The fifth Assembly of Experts started its work with a message of the Supreme Leader on May 24. The 88-member body is responsible for supervising and electing the country's supreme leader.
