Iranian army ready to offer training services to Iraqi army

By Fatih Karimov - Trend: The Iranian army is ready to offer training services to the Iraqi army.

Hossein Valivand, chancellor of the university of commanding officers of the Iranian army, said that the issue of offering training services to the Iraqi army was raised during a recent visit of Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi to Tehran, Iran's Fars news agency reported on Feb. 9.

In response to a question of is the Iranian army planning to offer training services to the military forces of Iraqi Kurdistan region, he replied: "This is the army's university and we are in relation with armies in the world. Of course, we accept students from the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. But, in regard to other countries, we accept students just from their armies."

He added that Iran sends officers to China, Pakistan, and Oman to teach military science and techniques.
