As a result of the earthquake, 138 people were injured in Iran, the figure may increase, the dead data is not yet available, a source in the Iranian Red Crescent told RIA Novosti.

One killed, another 100 were injured in Iraq as a result of the earthquake on the Iran-Iraq border, a source in the health sector of the Iraqi province of Diyala told.

According to the source, as a result of the earthquake, one person died in the city of Dzhalylya. About 60 people were injured in the Khanakin area, another 40 people were injured in the Balad Ruz district in the province of Diyala.

The earthquake hit large parts of Iraq and Iran including the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Sunday evening.

The US Geological Survey put the quake at 7.3 magnitudes, which placed the epicenter southwest of the city of Halabja along the Iraq-Iran border, Reuters reported.
