Iran expects to start vaccination of the population in the current Iranian month (Jan. 20 - Feb. 21) and this is very important, Iran's President Hassan Rouhani said, Trend reports via IRNA.

"We have tried to obtain the coronavirus vaccine from other places in addition to COVAX before the end of current Iranian year (started March 20,2020). It is necessary to obtain foreign vaccine until domestic vaccine is produced," said Rouhani.

"It is expected that three domestically produced coronavirus vaccines would be available by the end of spring. Three vaccine named Barekat, Razi and Pastur will be available in spring and in summer," he said.

"The mutated coronavirus is more dangerous," said Rouhani. "We would face new danger, if there is slightest ignorance and the number of infections and mortality rates may rise," he said.

"I am asking the Ministry of Road and Urban Development and other officials in airports and entrances in ports and railways to be cautious and prevent the new virus from entering the country, especially concerning those travelers coming from Europe and Africa."

"Large gatherings and unessential transportation should be prevented, it's our legal and national duty to comply with the health protocols," he said.

"We should continue compliance with the health protocols for at least the next six months until the domestically manufactured vaccine is available," Rouhani said.

"The new wave of coronavirus would mean possible closure of businesses, creating psychological problems for people, therefore we are fully trying to prevent the new wave," he said.
