Eastern Partnership countries’ FMs to meet in Czech Republic

Foreign ministers of the Eastern Partnership countries (Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Belarus), Visegrad Group countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary), the Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia ) and Denmark, which now presides over the EU Council, will hold a meeting in the Czech Republic on March 5, Czech news agency CTK reports with reference to the country’s Foreign Ministry.
Eastern Partnership countries’ FMs to meet in Czech Republic

Foreign ministers of the Eastern Partnership countries (Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Belarus), Visegrad Group countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary), the Baltic countries (Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia ) and Denmark, which now presides over the EU Council, will hold a meeting in the Czech Republic on March 5, Czech news agency CTK reports with reference to the country's Foreign Ministry.

"The Eastern Partnership deserves more attention (from the EU.)," the agency quotes First Deputy Foreign Minister Jiří Schneider as saying.

It is noted that High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton and EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy, Stefan Fule will also attend the meeting, Ukrinform reported.

The Eastern Partnership project was launched in the first half of 2009 during the Czech Republic's EU presidency. The last summits of the Partnership were held in September 2011 in Warsaw during the Polish presidency.
