Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received a delegation of U.S. congressmen led by Dana Rohrabacher on Saturday. Mammadyarov welcomed the guests and expressed his contentment on the existing relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, the sides discussed Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, situation in the regions, energy, security and the fight against terrorism, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry official site reported.

U.S. congressman expressed his gratitude for the fight against terrorism, especially for maintaining at the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.

Azerbaijani foreign minister said about country's contribution to the fight against terrorism, also informed about the negotiations, which are conducted on a peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The Minister said that it is very important conclusion of aggressive Armenian forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan for ensuring the continued security in the region. Exemption of lands is also important for the world, Mammadyarov said.

Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are currently holding the peace negotiations.

Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
