Syrian judicial authorities turned to the Lebanese Office of Interpol to detain Former Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri, Anadolu agency reported on Wednesday.
The Syrian authorities blame al-Hariri for financing the Free Syrian Army which the authorities call 'terrorists'.

President Assad's regime claims it has evidence that the former Lebanon minister provides the Free Syrian Army with arms and ammunition.

Earlier, Al-Hariri has repeatedly said that the Lebanese Hezbollah movement provides the Syrian regime with fighters.

According to Hariri, the Hezbollah militants participate in military operations of the Syrian army against the opposition and this is done on the instructions of President Bashar al-Assad.

Anti-government protests have continued in Syria for a year and half.

According to UN, the total number of victims of the conflict in Syria exceeds 30,000.
More than 230,000 have become refugees with around three million in need of humanitarian assistance. The Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
