Azerbaijani citizens may reside in Iran 15 days, but this period may be extended to 90 days, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia and Pacific Affairs Seyyed Abbas Araghchi said on Friday.
"Today, there are several proposals in relation to this issue. We consider these proposals. This issue is at the center of our attention. There are still some issues that need to be suggested with the different structures of Iran. Term may be extended after officials express their opinion, "- said Araghchi.
Visa requirements for citizens of Azerbaijan was entered in connection with the ongoing Tehran summit of the Non-Aligned Movement from 5 to 31 August.
Visa regime between Azerbaijan and Iran had been canceled since February 2010.
