The seasonal decline continued in production in agricultural, fishery and forestry sectors, which began after the phenomenal growth in all indicators in July 2009 in Azerbaijan.
According to official statistics, in January-February 2010, the total amount of the agricultural production made up AZN 214.9mln, a decrease of 2.4% in January-February 2009.
In February 2010, production amounted to 105.8 million manat compared to 109.1 million manat in January 2010 (-3 percent), 165.1 million manat in December and 108.4 million manat in January-February 2009.
The cost of agricultural production in January-February 2010 amounted to 214.6 million manat compared to 219.9 million manat in January-February 2009.
In February it amounted to 105.7 million manat compared to 108.9 million manat in January 2010, 164.6 million manat in December and 108.3 million manat in February 2009.
Actual cost of forestry products in January-February 2010 amounted to 221,400 manat compared to 1,943,400 manat for entire 2009 and 1,409,700 manat in 2008, the fishing industry - 20,900 manat compared to 213,400 manat and 194,800 manat respectively.

In February 2010, meat production fell by 5.9 percent compared to last year. According to the State Statistics Committee, the production of meat in February 2010 amounted to 23,034 tons compared to 24,466 tons in January 2010, 26,300 tons in December and 23,655 tons in February 2009.
During January-February, the meat production totaled 47,500 tons, or 1.5 percent less than production in the same period of 2009 (48.3 tons). For whole last year, the meat production amounted to 305,100 tons, which was 0.8 percent more than production in 2008 (302,8 tons).
Milk in January-February 2010 was produced at 213,300 tons compared to 204,500 tons during the same period and 1,433,100 tons for whole 2009 (4.3 percent), eggs - 199.4 million units compared to 189.3 million units and 1209.4 million respectively. Data on the production of wool is not provided, but for whole 2009 it was produced at 15,300 tons compared to 14,800 tons a year earlier (3.3 percent).

According to State Statistics Committee, in February the index of production prices for agricultural products in Azerbaijan rose by 0.2 percent compared to the previous month, but fell by 3.8 percent compared to the same period of last year.
Last month, prices for plant growing, melon and fruit grew by 2.8 percent, but compared to January-February 2009 fell by 0.2 percent.
In February, the index of production prices for livestock products in January fell by 2.9 percent (9.4 percent). The price index of forest products remained unchanged (January-February of last year grew by 26 percent), prices of fish and fishery products grew by 2.6 percent (remained unchanged).
