The 19th meeting of the GUAM Council of National Coordinators (CNC) was held under the presidency of Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. A. Gorin on 9-10 September 2010 in the GUAM Secretariat in Kyiv.

Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia Mr. D. Djalagania, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova Mr. A. Popov, Acting Head of Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. E. Agayev, and Secretary General of GUAM Mr. V. Chechelashvili were participated at the meeting.

CNC considered the issues of political interaction among the GUAM member states, including those within the UN, OSCE and other international organizations.
CNC considered the issues of GUAM sector cooperation and emphasized the necessity of facilitation of its economic and humanitarian components. CNC forwarded to the GUAM Council of Minister for Foreign Affairs (CMFA) respective recommendations on intensification of activities of economic cooperation bodies for the deepening the GUAM Free Trade Area and developing of international legal basis in spheres of free movement of capital, services, and labour. Special attention was drawn to the involvement of business circles in the GUAM activities, necessity of renewing the activities of the GUAM Business Council and its bodies, initiating of new economic cooperation projects, including those in the "GUAM+" format, and expanding of GUAM countries' tour operators experience in the development and promotion of joint tourist product.

CNC considered prospects and discussed recommendations on further development of cooperation in spheres of law enforcement, prevention of emergencies, and border control, in particular, on the adoption of recommendations of the GUAM border control authorities related to Eastern partnership Flagship initiative "Integrated Border Management" project on securing border control in GUAM Transport Corridor. CNC also decided to transmit to the Japanese side proposals of GUAM Working Group on Emergencies.

CNC supported the efforts of tour operators and tourist administrations of the GUAM member states for the implementation of the Baku Declaration of the Heads of institutions of the GUAM member states`, responsible for tourism development and the relevant Action Plan from 25 June 2010 regarding the promotion of the GUAM joint tourist product on the Japanese market.

CNC discussed the issues of GUAM cooperation with the USA, Japan, Visegrad countries, and other international organizations and forwarded to the CMFA the appropriate recommendations aimed for further development of partner relations.

The next 12th regular meeting of the CMFA scheduled to take place in New York in September within the margins of the 65th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations.
