Contract on building ferroalloy production plant signed in Baku

A contract on establishment of ferroalloy production plant in Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park was signed in Baku. Baku Non-Ferrous Metals & Ferroalloys Company and Turkish Demora signed the contract. The contract's signing ceremony took place within the framework of the "State support for development of the industry" conference held in Baku organized by Azerbaijan's Economy Ministry. Baku Non-Ferrous Metals & Ferroalloys Company became the fifth resident of Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park. The company will be engaged in the production of ferrosilicon and ferrosilicon manganese (FeSiMn).

Iran, Azerbaijan sign 11 documents on mutual co-op

Iranian and Azerbaijani officials signed 11 Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the meeting between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani in Tehran.

FAO opens Partnership and Liaison Office in Baku

Partnership and Liaison Office of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN) was opened in Baku, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Agriculture said. Head of Partnership and Liaison Office Mustafa Imir expressed confidence that the office would contribute to the development of agriculture in Azerbaijan, which he described as FAO`s partner and a new donor country.

Azerbaijan, Iran sign historic agreement

Azerbaijan and Iran have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of energy and water resources use, continuation of the construction and operation of hydroelectric power plants and hydroelectric complexes "Khudaferin" and "Giz Galasi" on the Araz River, a source in the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan said. The document states that Iran will ensure completion of construction of hydroelectric complexes and hydroelectric power plants, preservation and operation of water and energy resources at hydroelectric complexes and hydroelectric power plants until the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan is restored. The agreement says that the sides will use these facilities on equal terms. Azerbaijani specialists will be involved in construction and operation of the facilities in accordance with the agreement.

Azerbaijan to build patrol boats for Kazakhstan

Azerbaijan will build patrol boats for the Border Service of Kazakhstan, the website of Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan reported. Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade discussed these issues with deputy chairman of the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan director of the Border Guard Service Darkhan Dilmanov in Baku.
