Azerbaijan’s state budget revenues reached 3,591.5 million manat in January-March 2017 compared to the forecasted 3.473 million manat, which means overfulfilment of forecasted indices by 3.4 percent, the country’s finance ministry said.

Azerbaijan’s state budget expenses reached 3,912.7 million manat (the forecast was executed by 95.5 percent) in January-February 2017, the country’s State Statistics Committee said citing the finance ministry.

As a result, the state budget deficit was estimated at 321.2 million manat or 2.1 percent of GDP.

The revenues transferred through the Ministry of Taxes amounted to 1,420.8 million manat in the budget revenue structure, which is by 3.8 percent more than the forecast.

Of those funds, 67.2 percent (954.2 million manat) accounted for the non-oil sector.

The country’s State Customs Committee transferred 571 million manat to the state budget in January-March 2017, which is by 17.5 percent more than the forecast and by 37 percent (154.1 million manat) more than in the same period of 2016.

Moreover, budgetary organizations, rendering paid services, transferred 62.6 million manat to the country’s state budget, while 12.1 million manat - from other revenues in January-March 2017. Transfers from the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) to the state budget amounted to 1.525 million manat.

Some 41.8 percent (1,635.7 million manat) accounted for the state budget social expenditures in January-March 2017, which is by 14.6 percent or 209 million manat more than in January-March 2016.

These funds were transferred to the wage fund, for paying scholarships and social benefits, medicines and food. The expenditure for the construction and reconstruction of scientific, education, health, cultural, sports and other socio-cultural facilities amounted to 216.8 million manat, construction and reconstruction of infrastructure in energy, gas and water supply, melioration and other spheres - 676.1 million manat.

Some 22.2 million manat was allocated from the state budget for financing investment expenditure in Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Within three months, all obligations accepted by the treasury bodies on applications of budgetary organizations were fully and timely executed.

The consolidated budget expenditures amounted to 6,752.7 million manat, while income – 5,649.6 million manat in January-March 2017. The consolidated budget deficit was 1,103.1 million manat.
