Ilham Aliyev approves new ACG deal
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev approved the Law on Adoption, Approval and Authorization of Implementing the Agreement on Joint Development and Production Sharing for the Azeri and Chirag Fields and the Deep Water Section of the Gunashli Field in the Azerbaijani Sector of the Caspian Sea, signed by SOCAR’s AzACG, BP Exploration (Caspian Sea) Limited, Chevron Khazar Ltd., Exxon Azerbaijan Limited, INPEX Southwest Caspian Sea Ltd., ITOCHU Oil Exploration (Azerbaijan) Inc., ONGC Videsh Limited, Statoil Absheron, and TPAO.
A ceremony of signing a new contract on development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) block of oil and gas fields was held in Baku Sept. 14.
On Oct. 31, the new agreement was ratified by Azerbaijani parliament. The agreement will be valid until Dec. 31, 2049.
Azerbaijani president exempts some imported raw materials from VAT
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree approving the "List of Imported Raw Materials Exempt From Value Added Tax".
Among those raw materials are burnt pyrite, aluminum ores and concentrates, aluminium oxide, electrodes used in furnaces, electrodes for electrolysis units, and others.
Import of cornea allowed in Azerbaijan
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has decreed to amend the “Decree on Additional Measures in Regulation of Turnover of Items with Limited Civil Circulation”, dated Sept. 12, 2005.
In accordance with the amendments, Azerbaijan gives permission for the import of cornea into the country.
Ilham Aliyev extends moratorium on business inspections in Azerbaijan
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree extending the moratorium on inspections of business activities in Azerbaijan until Jan. 1, 2021.
The moratorium will not apply to quality control of medicines, compliance with safety regulations, and safety control of food products.
Meanwhile, according to the decree, quality control of medicines and compliance with safety regulations will be conducted by the Ministry of Healthcare, while control over food quality will be carried out by the Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan.
MoU approved on Azerbaijan-Poland energy cooperation
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed a decree approving a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the energy sector between the Azerbaijani Energy Ministry and the Polish Energy Ministry.
The Energy Ministry is instructed to ensure implementation of the provisions of the Memorandum mentioned in the decree after its entry into force, the Foreign Ministry is tasked to notify the Government of Poland on the implementation of the internal procedures required for the entry into force of the Memorandum of Understanding.
The MoU was signed on June 27, 2017 in Warsaw.
