Turkish police seized 304 kg of heroin in two operations in Turkey, the semi-official Anatolia news agency reported Friday.
  
After receiving information, Turkish police stopped a truck in Hakkari in southeastern Turkey, seizing 209 kg of heroin in eight sacks in the truck, official sources were quoted as saying, Xinhua reported.
  
In another operation, Turkish gendarme teams confiscated 95 kg of heroin in a minibus in Buyukcekmece district in Turkish largest city of Istanbul, said Anatolia.
  
Meanwhile, Turkish police impounded 462.7 kg hashish in Lice town of southeastern province of Diyarbakir on Friday, according to Anatolia.
  
Turkey is a key transit route for smuggling drugs from Asia and the Middle East to markets in western Europe.
  
In 2008, Turkish security forces waged a total of 15,000 operations against drugs, confiscating more than 15 tons of heroin, 39 tons of hashish and 1.4 million ecstasy pills, and arresting 32, 000 suspects, according to Anatolia.
