Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reportedly ordered his deputies to look into all parliamentary motions linking deputies to serious crimes, not only ones concerning terror -- which mostly involve pro-Kurdish deputies -- amid debates over whether to lift the immunity of a number of deputies from the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) Today`s Zaman reported.

Erdogan held a closed-door meeting with his deputies on Tuesday regarding the issue of removing the parliamentary immunity of 10 pro-Kurdish deputies following nearly 800 motions filed against them in Parliament accusing them of having links with a terrorist organization.

Turkey's Bugun daily reported that Erdogan listened to seven deputies from his Justice and Development Party (AK Party) during the meeting and took notes without making comments.

After listening to his deputies in the 2.5-hour meeting, Erdoğan ordered them to look into all 956 motions currently on file that accuse deputies of links to serious crimes. Many of the motions demand that deputies who are involved in illegal activities be divested of their titles.

Erdogan also floated the idea that there could be work on a constitutional change with respect to the matter.
