Eka Zguladze has been appointed as First Deputy Interior Minister, the Georgian Interior Ministry said today.

Shota Khizanishvili, Shalva Janashvili George Lortkipanidze and Nodar Kharshiladze have also been appointed deputies of the new Interior Minister Bacho Akhalaia. Nika Dzimtseishvili has been appointed as the chief of Border Police. He also will serve as deputy interior minister.

Vakhtang Bochorishvili has been appointed as head of the Special Operations Department, Levan Kardava - head of the Constitutional Security Department and Revaz Shiukashvili - head of the Intelligence Department.

Tengiz Gunava became a new head of the General Inspectorate of the Interior Ministry.

Alexander Svintradze has been appointed chief of the Main Interior Department of Imereti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo (Lower) Svaneti, George Kokaya - chief of the Main Interior Department of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Levan Kakhiani - chief of the Main Interior Department of Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Ilia Gamgebeli - chief of the Main Interior Department of Shida (inner) Kartli, Vephiya Saginashvili - chief of the Main Interior Department of Kakheti and Irakli Kipshidze - head of the Tbilisi Head Police Department.
