Georgia looks forward to Kazakhstan's proposals on KazTransGas-Tbilisi company,
Georgian Deputy Energy and Natural Resources Minister Marika Valishvili told Trend over phone on Tuesday.

"There is mutual desire to return Kazakh management to the company. We are waiting for the proposals from the Kazakh party on conditions under which they will return to the company," Valishvili said.

According to Georgian Deputy Energy and Natural Resources Minister, there are some unresolved legal and commercial issues in the company and Georgia is waiting for KazTransGas proposals on the ways of this issues resolutions.

"They have to present their vision and their suggestions on the company's debts and legal status," she said.

According to Valishvili, Georgia is interested in Kazakh management's return to KazTransGas-Tbilisi.

"We would like to return the investor to the company," she said.

According to Valishvili, the working group will discuss the ways of Kazakh management's return to the company, however the date of the working group meeting has not been defined yet.

Kazakh KazTransGas became the owner of the assets of the Tbilisi gas distribution company Tbilgazi after winning an investment bid in May 2006. The investor paid $12.5 million for the company.

In 2009, the Georgian National Regulatory Commission for Energy and Water Supply has appointed a special manager to KazTransGas-Tbilisi. The reason for the change of management was due to the company's 80 million lari debt (1 lari = $0.5742), including 68 million lari to the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation for natural gas supply.

In November Georgian Energy and Natural Resources Minister Kakha Kaladze said the Georgian government is ready to discuss the issue of the withdrawal of the temporary manager from KazTransGas-Tbilisi and the return of Kazakh management.
