It became apparent that retired General, MP Seyran Saroyan went to the Armenian Presidential Residence, in the past week, and met with President Serzh Sargsyan, Zhoghovurd daily writes.

"Prior to that, and especially after the meeting, Saroyan's team members are actively discussing that Seyran Saroyan will be appointed Armed Forces Chief of Staff, and that the ruling elite has already made this decision. It is known that news is regularly spread about dismissal of the [current] Armenian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Yury Khachaturov. When Zhoghovurd tried to find out whether the prospect for Saroyan's becoming Chief of Staff was real, after hearing this question Saroyan himself became surprised that he was being asked about this topic, and subsequently recommended to refrain from writing about the army," News.am reported with reference to Yerkir.
