Armenian embassy opened in Holland

On Nov. 21, in the Hague, Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian held a meeting with his Dutch counterpart Uri Rosenthal.

The Dutch FM congratulated Minister Nalbandian on the opening of Armenia's Embassy in Holland. He expressed confidence that the embassy will greatly contribute to the development of bilateral relations, Tert.am reported.

Minister Nalbandian pointed out the importance of intensifying the bilateral political dialogue and economic cooperation.

Armenia appreciates Holland's assistance to Armenia's development both at the bilateral level and within international agencies - the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, International Monetary Fund and World Bank.

Forty-six enterprises shared in by Dutch capital are operating in Armenia, Nalbandian said. He hopes that the sides may combine their efforts to, at least, double this number.

The Armenian and Dutch FMs exchanged views on Armenia-EU relations and on cooperation under the Eastern Partnership project.
The Armenian FM participated in the opening ceremony of the Armenian Embassy in Holland.

He noted that November 21, 2001, the day when Armenia's embassy has been opened in Holland and Armenia's national flag hoisted over the building, inaugurates a new start in the bilateral relations.

In the latter half of the day, at the Armenian Embassy, Minister Nalbandian held a meeting with representatives of the local Armenian community. He informed them of Armenia's priorities, including foreign policy priorities. The Armenian FM also gave an interview to the De Volkskrant newspaper.
