Armenian embassy opens in Czech Rep.

Armenia’s Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic, officially opened on Tuesday. Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian, Czech FM Karel Schwarzenberg, heads of diplomatic missions in Prague, Czech MPs, and Armenian community representatives attended the event, MFA Press Service informed NEWS.am.

Armenia's Embassy in Prague, Czech Republic, officially opened on Tuesday. Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian, Czech FM Karel Schwarzenberg, heads of diplomatic missions in Prague, Czech MPs, and Armenian community representatives attended the event, MFA Press Service informed NEWS.am.

On the same day, Edward Nalbandian, who is in Prague on an official visit, met with Czech Deputy PM, FM Karel Schwarzenberg. The latter congratulated Nalbandian for the opening of Armenia's Embassy, stressing this would give a new impetus to Armenian-Czech cooperation.

In his turn, Armenian FM specifically said: "Our relations have risen to a new quantitative level." As per Nalbandian, the Embassy's opening bespeaks the Armenian side's determination to deepen and expand the friendly partnership with the Czech Republic. He also added: "A real progress is recorded over the course of past several years. The interparliamentary ties have become more active."

The two ministers delightfully noted that eight bilateral agreements were signed in the last three years.

The Armenian and Czech FMs also thoroughly discussed regional and international matters of interest. They also examined the commercial cooperation, investment opportunities, and cultural exchange.

Edward Nalbandian and Karel Schwarzenberg also looked into Armenia-EU cooperation and the Eastern Partnership Project.

The two ministers agreed to prepare consultation programs between the MFAs of both countries and to carry out cooperation between Armenian MFA's School of Diplomacy and Czech MFA's Diplomatic Academy.

Also, Edward Nalbandian briefed his Czech colleague on the Nagorno Karabakh peace process. Both men stressed this conflict shall solely be resolved through peace talks.

Afterward, the two FMs held a joint press conference.
