Ruling Armenian Republican Party's (RPA) executive body will discuss candidate for new parliament speaker during the session to be held this week.
Secretary of RPA parliamentary group Eduard Sharmazanov told NEWS.am that the issue is included in the agenda of four-day parliament session opening on December 5.
However, Sharmazanov evaded the question on Republican Party's candidate.
According to our sources, Deputy Speaker Samvel Nikoyan will take up the office, while Hermine Naghdalyan will replace Nikoyan.
Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan handed in his resignation and will later head the campaign office of the Republican Party.
