The Republic Party has left the opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC).

The Party Political Council convened an extended session on Friday, during which the Party members unanimously decided to part ways with the ANC, News.am reported.

ANC member Republic Party Chairman Aram Sargsyan had renounced his National Assembly (NA) seat and, also, he had not ruled out the possibility of leaving the ANC.

"We had disagreements with the ANC in the past time period," Sargsyan had stated.

Sargsyan was third in the ANC's proportional list for the May 6 NA elections, but he had already announced about giving up his parliamentary mandate during the campaign season.
