Armenia and Russia have set specific measures for creation of joint defense companies and service centers, Novosti-Armenia reports with reference to the press service of the National Security Council.
The list of activities with indication of terms and executors is provided in the protocol signed by the joint meeting of the Russian and Armenian national parts of the Interstate Commission for Military and Economic Cooperation and the Business Council of the CSTO under ICMEC.
In the course of events held in Yerevan on January 29-30 with participation of the CSTO leadership, the issue of establishment in Armenia of certified service centers for maintenance and repair of armored vehicles and engineering equipment, air defense system and Mi helicopters, vehicles produced in Russia, as well as possibilities of assembly of vehicles on the basis of KAMAZ chassis were discussed.
The agenda of the meeting of the Russian and Armenian national parts of the ICMEC also included issues concerning creation of communication systems and equipment of the new generation (integrated training systems) to train personnel of law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Armenia.
In addition, the CSTO Secretariat and the Office of the National Security Council of Armenia signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of the "CSTO Academy" Fund in the Republic of Armenia.
