Press Secretary: Armenian President's offers to “Heritage” leader remain on the table

The offers made in the letter of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan addressed to the leader of "Heritage" opposition party Raffi Hovannisian dated March 25, are still good, despite the fact that the unreasonable ultimatums sounding the square reduces their validity as every hour passes, Press Secretary of the Armenian President Armen Arzumanyan said, according to ARKA.

At a meeting on March 22, Raffi Hovannisian read his letter to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, in which, among other demands, he called on the current authorities to appoint eight of his supporters to government positions and to take criminal proceedings against all persons responsible for falsifications in the presidential election. Sargsyan in response to the proposals sent him a letter in which he called to stop the hunger strike and work together.

On March 26, Hovannisian sent Sargsyan the second letter, which confirmed his willingness to meet with the president to discuss ways of solving national problems at any time in Liberty Square.

At the presidential elections held in Armenia on February 18, the incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan won the presidential elections with 58.64 percent of the votes. Raffi Hovannisian ranked second with 36.75 percent, while former Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan ranked third receiving 2.15 percent of the votes.

Since March 10, Hovannisian has been on a hunger strike in Liberty Square.
