Gas supply from Georgia to Armenia has been restored on Aug. 27 morning, the press service of Gazprom Armenia JSC said.

Georgian gas transmission company officially informed Gazprom Armenia company of a temporary suspension of natural gas supply to Armenia since 05 a.m. (UTC+04:00) on August 27 due to the emergency and recovery works on the main pipeline on the territory of Georgia.

"Today, August 27th, since 10:45 a.m. (UTC+04:00) the delivery of natural gas to Armenia through the North Caucasus - Transcaucasia main gas pipeline due to emergency and recovery works has been restored," the report said.

Gazprom Armenia JSC organizes the supply of natural gas for the domestic market in Armenia. The company is also engaged in the transportation, storage, distribution and sale of natural gas, reconstruction and expansion of the gas transmission system and underground gas storage facilities in the country.

The last time gas supply to Armenia was suspended on August, 20 due to an accident on the North Caucasus-Transcaucasus main gas pipeline in Georgia (in Daryal Gorge) and restored on August, 23.

In case of temporary termination of gas supply Armenian customers are supplied with gas from the Abovyan underground gas storage.
