Standard of living of Armenian citizens in 2018 is expected to be lower than in 2017, economist Artak Manukyan told Armenian media.
He pointed to the rise in prices for such goods as cigarettes, alcohol, gasoline, chicken, etc. as one of the reasons for the decrease of the standard of living.
Payments on the mandatory funded pension system, which will enter into force on July 1, 2018, will further aggravate the situation, he said.
No increase is observed in pensions and salaries, and this proves that no attempts are made to ensure decent life and well-being of Armenian citizens, he added.
