We are interested in the soonest possible resolution of the conflict- EU delegation head

EU is closely watching the development of the democratic institutions in Armenia, the Armenian foreign minister, Vardan Oskanyan said on April 20.

He said that during his meeting with the Austrian state secretary, Hans Winkler special attention has been paid to implementation of parliamentary and presidential elections in 2007-08, Mediamax reports.

Problems of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution have been discussed at the meeting as well, the Armenian minister said. I have presented the Armenian position on the issue and we exchanged opinions on possible development in the negotiating process, he added.

EU representatives also discussed Armenian- Turkish relations, energetic safety and situation in Iran.

Winkler expressed his hope that the progress will be achieved at the next parliamentary and presidential elections in Armenia.

Speaking about Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Winkler assured that EU interested in its soonest possible resolution. We are ready to assist the resolution process in any way we can, he concluded.
