Action plan to become basis of increasing EU-Armenia cooperation

(Regnum) - Armenia's President Robert Kocharyan received newly appointed head of the European Commission Mission in Armenia, Ambassador Per Eklund on December 5.

As REGNUM is told at the press office of the Armenian president, the Armenian leader congratulated the diplomat to his appointment and stressed that EU-Armenia relations after signing the Action Plan in the frameworks of the New European Neighborhood Policy have entered a very important and active stage, reports Trend.

Robert Kocharyan also noted that the Armenian party expects cooperation from the side of the European Commission, as well as active work with European Commission member-countries. We see the program as a serious opportunity for continuing systemized and general reforms and we shall be trying to use it as much as possible, the president said. The parties agreed that the Action Plan in the frameworks of the New European Neighborhood Policy will pave the way for increasing EU-Armenia cooperation within next five years.
