Armenia is more corrupt than Georgia

(Regnum) - According to corruption index, Armenia has 82 points and occupies the 69th place under a 100-point scale. Georgia has 68 points and takes the 31st position, Russia and Ukraine take the 93rd position (90 points). It is worth mentioning that Latvia tales the 88th place (89 points), the last one, 101st, is taken by Lithuania (94 points). The results were made public by Gallup that conducted the poll, reports Trend.

When Gallup was conducting the survey, residents of 101 countries in the world were asked two questions: Is corruption widely spread in authorities of your country? and Is corruption widely spread in business institutions of your country?.

The Gallup rating is based upon a 100-point scale, where zero is the minimal possible level of corruption and 100 is the maximal possible level. The top ten least corrupt countries include Finland (12 points), Denmark and New Zealand (by 21), Singapore (22), Saudi Arabia (25), Great Britain, Norway and Switzerland (by 36), Australia (37) and Sweden (39); the USA takes the 19th position in the list (59 points), Washington ProFile reports.
