(PanARMENIAN.Net) - The presence of the U.S. ambassador in Armenia is extremely important for the further development of the Armenian-American relations, U.S. ChargР№ d'Affaires Anthony Godfrey said in Yerevan.
The Armenian government has already given consent to the appointment of a new ambassador whose designation is awaiting approval by the Senate. I suppose the new U.S. ambassador, he said. The American diplomat also emphasized that the final decision is taken by Washington, reports Trend.
The appointment of U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Matthew Bryza the Co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group proves the importance of relations with Armenia, Mr Godfrey said.
