Tbilisi Welcomes Consideration Of Frozen Conflicts At 62nd UN General Assembly

( Prime-News ) - Official Tbilisi welcomes discussions on the Frozen Conflicts on the Territories of the GUAM Member States at the 62nd session of the UN General Assembly, which opened in New York on September 18.

According to the statement of the Foreign Ministry of Georgia this fact provides a further confirmation that the existing conflicts on the territory of Georgia as well as Azerbaijan and Moldova have been and still remain in the spotlight of attention of the international community. It is an obvious result of the efforts of the GUAM member states and the support this initiative earned from the international community.

"We believe that the constructive approach adopted by each participant of these discussions contributed considerably to inclusion of this issue into the 62nd session agenda. We consider that work in this spirit may become an effective prerequisite for real resolution of the conflicts," reads the statement widespread by the Foreign Ministry of Georgia.

At the same time the Georgian side expresses its readiness to cooperate actively with all the interested parties to achieve peaceful resolution of the conflicts with full respect for the inviolability of Georgia's territorial integrity and its sovereignty.
