United Opposition to put Forward Own Candidate for Presidential Elections, Rather Supporting a Businessman

Georgia, Tbilisi / corr Trend N.KIrckhaliya / The united opposition will not support Badri Patarkishvili, a Georgian businessman in the upcoming presidential elections and will nominate its own candidate, David Zurabishvili, one of the leaders of united opposition said.

"Nearly ten political parties are part of our union, we will put forward our own candidate and this will happen shortly," Zurabishvili said.

Patarkacishvili said on 11 November that he intends to ballot for the post of President. Irregular presidential elections will be held on 5 January 2008.

Earlier, Zurabishvili said to KavkazPress that the united opposition is planning to nominate a candidate for the post of Georgian president a person who will surprise all of Georgia.
