Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Georgian ex-Minister, Irakli Okruashvili, may require political asylum in another country, said Giorgi Tortladze, one of the leaders of the 'For Unified Georgia' party founded by the ex-Minister.

"We do not know if Okruashvili will be present at the court trial scheduled for 16 November," Tortladze said. Eka Beselia, the former minister's lawyer, called today's proceedings, including the arrest of Okruashvili, an attempted political maneuver.

"The former minister also demands the discharge of one of his lawyers, Givi Papuashvili," Beselia said.
