Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / The Georgian president Michael Saakashvili will resign on 25 November, Michael Machavariani, Vice-Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, said.
"The President cannot resign until 25 November as he is expected to hold a number of meetings. He will also visit Georgia for the anniversary of the Rose Revolution.
Saakashvili will launch the election campaign after his resignation and the presidential elections will be held on 5 January 2008.
