Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Mamuka Giorgadze, the leader of the opposition Popular Party of Georgia, considers that the Georgian leadership attempt to make contradictions within the country as their candidate for the president post Michael Saakashvili, is noncompetative.

"The current government cannot guarantee that the former President Saakashvili can win the upcoming presidential election scheduled on 5 January 2008," Giorgadze said in the interview to the Trend agency. The current government is well informed that the population do not support Saakashvili's candidature. The presidential elections in Georgia are scheduled on 5 January 2008.
