Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / Nino Burjanadzeh, the acting President of Georgiam, will issue the next amnesty act by the end of 2007, stated Elena Tevdoradze, the chairman of the Parliamentary Commission on Human Rights and Civilian Integration, in an interview to the journalists.
According to Tevdoradze, the next amnesty act will be the third one. The first amnesty was issued on 23 November, by the then President Michael Saakashvili. Around 700 prisoners were released as a result of the first amnesty act. The second amnesty act was signed by Tevdoradze. Some 300 prisoners were released.
"However, we cannot announce the exact number of prisoners which will be released within the framework of the next, the third amnesty act," Tevdoradze said.
