Azerbaijan, Baku 9 January /corr. Trend K.Ramazanova / Andreas Herkel, the Co-rapporteur of the PACE Monitoring Group, calls on the opposition to work on the political program.
"Already, it is not the time for street demonstrations," Herkel reported to Trend by telephone from India, on 9 Jan.
On 5 Jan, the early Presidential elections took place in Georgia. Mikhail Saakashvili is again surely leading in the early presidential elections in Georgia, after the votes counting from the votes of 3484 out of 3512 polling stations. The candidate from the combined opposition, Levan Gachechiladze, who gained 25.26% of the votes, highlighted the falsification of the election results and their intentions to begin the demonstrations.

Saakashvili was forced to hold the early presidential elections on 5 Jan, after the numerous demonstrations by the opposition in November 2007. According to the early report of the Central Election Commission of Georgia, 1,912,943 or 56.17% of the voters took part in the elections.
