Georgian United Opposition not to Boycott Parliamentary Elections and to Take Part in Elections with Unified List

Georgia, Tbilisi / corr. Trend N. Kirtshkalia/ The United Opposition of Georgia will take part in the parliamentary elections to be held in the spring and introduce a unified electoral roll. All members of the party included in the United Opposition want to take part in the parliamentary elections, Konstantin Gamsakhurdia, a member of the United Opposition and leader of the party Freedom said to journalists. The United Opposition leaders meeting was held in the office of the Conservative party until late in the nigh. "We want our unity of opposition parties to take part in the elections with a unified list and currently consultations are being held on the unified lists," Gamsakhurdia said.

Levan Gachechiladze, a former candidate for presidency from the United Opposition, announced that if the Government does not fulfill the opposition's demands, a boycott of the parliamentary elections by the opposition will not be ruled out.

However other members of the United Opposition have strongly ruled out the possibility of boycotting the elections. They state that they will introduce their action plan to the public in two weeks.
