Georgian Labourites Call on Opposition to Boycott Parliamentary Elections

Georgia, Tbilisi, 13 March / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia/ Georgian Labour Party called on all the political opposition to boycott the parliamentary elections in Georgia. Thus, opposition will receive the legal right to deprive Unified National Movements of the power, Shalva Natelashvili, the chair of the Labour Party, said at a special briefing in front of the State Chancellery on 13 March.

"If all political circles refuse from participation in the parliamentary elections, the authorities will lose legitimacy and we will be able to oust them without revolution," he said.

Natelashvili called on all oppositionists to unite. He said that Labourites will wait till 20 March and if the opposition does not unite they will take part in the elections.

Georgia will hold parliamentary elections in May.
