Voting Station to Be Opened in Georgia’s Embassy in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku, 23 April / Trend corr J. Babayeva/ A voting station will be opened in the Georgia's Embassy in Azerbaijan due to parliamentary elections to take place in Georgia on 21 May, Mamuka Balavadze, employee in the Embassy, said to Trend on 23 April.

According to Balavadze, the official decision in this connection has not been yet taken.

There are 62 political parties in Georgia intending to participate in the elections. The new Parliament will consist of 150 MPs (current Parliament includes 235 MPs), with 75 of them to be elected through proportional system and the other 75 through majority system.

During the early presidential elections which took place in Georgia on 5 January, 699 Georgians temporary residing in Azerbaijan visited the voting station in the Georgia's Embassy.
