Russian Ambassador Receives One More Protest Note from Georgian Foreign Ministry
Georgia, Tbilisi / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia/ Acting Foreign Minister of Georgia Grigol Vashadze submitted a protest note to Russian Ambassador to the country Vacheslav Kovalenko, due to the increase of Russian peacekeeping force in Abkhazia.
Kovalenko said after the meeting that the note expressed concern about the increase in number of peacekeepers in the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict area.
" Russia has not anyhow violated the agreement on peacekeeping force of 1994 undersigned by Eduard Shevardnadze and Boris Yeltsin, former Georgian and Russian Presidents. We are fulfilling the agreement," he said.
As to Russia's actions in case the situation in the conflict goes beyond control and conflict is restored, Russian Ambassador said " Russia will act in accordance with the prevailing conditions happening."
