Georgia, Tbilisi, 4 June / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia/ Georgian Defence Minister called on Russia to follow Abkhazia-related statements by the NATO Secretary General.
"That was a statement made by a politician who treats Georgia in a friendly way, and I advise our neighbours in the North to follow it," Georgian Defence Minister said at a joint briefing with his Ukrainian counterpart Yuri Yekhanurov on 4 June.
On 3 June, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer negatively assessed introduction of Russian railway troops to Abkhazia without any coordination with Tbilisi, and called on Russia to withdraw its troops which have nothing in common with peacekeeping forces.
