NATO Appraisal Mission to Visit Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi, 17 June / Trend corr N. Kirtskhalia/ "A NATO appraisal mission will arrive in Tbilisi in the second half of June," brigadier general Zaza Gogava, head of Georgian Armed Forces' Unified Staff, said to journalists on 17 June.

"That is the second NATO appraisal delegation visiting Georgia. That means the Alliance pays a serious attention to the situations with reforms in the Georgian Army," he said.

Gogava said conformity of Georgian Army with NATO standards, as well as enhancement of NATO-Georgia cooperation, will be discussed during the meeting.

Georgia is expecting to get a NATO MAP in December 2008.
