Georgian Parliament Approves New Cabinet of Ministers

Georgia, Tbilisi, 1 November /corr. Trend N.Kirtskhalia / At its extraordinary meeting on 1 November, the Parliament of Azerbaijan approved new Cabinet of Ministers of Georgia headed by Prime Minister Grigol Mgaloblishvili. Some 98 MPs voted for and 11 against the decision.  

There are four new ministers in the new government. They are minister for refugees, Koba Subeliani, minister of justice, Zurab Adeishvili, minister of environmental protection and natural resources, Giorgi Khachidze, minister of culture and sport, Grigol Vashadze.

Those who re-gained their posts are interior minister, Vano Merabishvili, defense minister, David Kezerashvili, minister of finance, Nika Gilauri, minister of economy, Ekaterina Sharashidze, foreign minister Ekaterina Tkeshelashvili, minister of education, Gia Nodiya, minister of energy Aleko Khetaguri, minister of agriculture, Vakhtang Kvezereli, minister of labor, public and social protection, Alexander Kvitaishvili, state minister for European integration, Giorgi Baramidze, state minister of reintegration Temur Yakobashvili, state minister for diaspora issues, Yulon Gagoshidze and state minister of regional policy, David Tkeshelashvili. Vice prime minister will be Nina Gilauri.

Parliamentary opposition did not support new government, stating that these are only formal changes and the basic ministerial staff did not change. Both oppositional fractions "Strong Georgia" and "Christian- Democrats" voted against the approval of government.
