Representatives of the Georgian Public Defender met with members of the Council of Europe Committee Against Torture during their visit to Georgia.
The visits aims to check private institutions and Georgia's progress executing recommendations, the Ombudsman's Office told Trend .
Representatives of the Georgian Public Defender's Office spoke at a meeting about correctional facilities, psychiatric clinics and pre-trial prison with the delegation.
In their turn, committee members were interested in learning more about the functioning of the Public Defender's Office as a national mechanism for preventing torture.
